An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 on the Richter scale occurred North of Halmahera, Indonesia on Friday, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said.
According to the NSC, the earthquake originating at a depth of 99 Km, was felt at 01:32:47 IST.
No casualties have been reported so far.
The tremors of the earthquake were also felt in the nearby province of North Sulawesi, according to the agency.
So far, the tremors of the quake did not cause damage to buildings or infrastructure facilities, said Abdul Muhari, spokesman of the National Disaster Management and Mitigation Agency.
