Former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan has been shot in the leg in what his supporters say was an assassination attempt on Thursday, reports news.sky.com and LBC.
According to the report, a gunman reportedly opened fire while Imran Khan was giving a speech to supporters at a rally in Wazirabad of Pakistan.
Sky's Cordelia Lynch, who was at the scene, said a Sky News producer was standing close to Imran Khan and saw the moment the politician was shot.
Four people were injured and Imran Khan was hit in the leg and was rushed to hospital where he is said to be in a stable condition.
A senior leader of Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, Faisal Javed, was also wounded.
A gunman has been arrested in this incident.
Imran was rushed away from the scene and his supporters said he had survived the assassination attempt.
