Jewellers have raised the price of gold by Tk1,889 to Tk141,951 per bhori (11.664 grams) due to a hike in the price of pure gold in the international market.
The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a meeting held on Tuesday.
The price of 22-carat gold will now be Tk12,170 per gram and 21-carat Tk11,617 per gram, reads a press release.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk9,957 a gram while that of traditional gold at Tk8,181 per gram.
New tariffs would come into effect on Wednesday, the release added.
However, the price of silver remained unchanged. The price of 22-carat silver is Tk180 per gram, 21-carat Tk172, 18-carat Tk147 and traditional one is Tk110 per gram.
