China tech giant Tencent has expressed its interest in expanding its business in Bangladesh.
A meeting was held between both sides in this regard.
Faiz Taiyeb Ahmad, special assistant to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, revealed the information through a social media post on Monday.
He said, “US giant Starlink has already come to Bangladesh. Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus officially approved the license for Starlink on Monday. The journey of big technology companies started in Bangladesh at the hands of Dr Yunus. More companies will come in the future in such a way.”
“Today we sat in a meeting with Tencent officially. They expressed their keen interest to come in Bangladesh. We have assured them of providing policy support within a short time” Taiyeb added.
Tencent Holdings Ltd was founded in 1998. It is one of the highest-grossing multimedia companies in the world based on revenue. It provides various internet-related products and services, entertainment, artificial intelligence and technology in China and worldwide. It is also the world's largest company in the video game industry based on its equity investments.
