Bangladesh's star midfielder Hamza Choudhury is set to arrive in Dhaka on 9 November for the upcoming two friendly matches, reports the Daily Sun.
Bangladesh national team manager Amer Khan confirmed it on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Tigers’ scheduled friendly match against Afghanistan on November 13 in Dhaka has been cancelled. As an alternative, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is bringing in Nepal to play a friendly before facing India in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers on November 18 in Dhaka.
The national team camp will begin on Thursday. Players have been asked to report at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital.
Regarding any new additions to the squad, Amer Khan said they would continue working with the same squad from the Hong Kong, China match. However, head coach Javier Cabrera will not be present from the start of the camp but is expected to return to the country soon.
Hamza’s club Leicester City will face Norwich City in the English Championship on 8 November. He will fly to Bangladesh on the next day.
Meanwhile, Shamit Shome’s arrival is yet to be confirmed. His club, Cavalry FC, in the Canadian Premier League, will play their final match before the international break on 3 November, after which he may travel to Bangladesh.
