West Indies have won the toss and decided to bat first in the opening T20 International of the three-match series against Bangladesh at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram on Monday.
Play is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm (BDST).
Bangladesh are riding a massive wave of confidence, having recently whitewashed Afghanistan 3-0 in the T20I format and then winning the ODI series 2-1 against the West Indies. They are currently on a hot streak, beating Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and the Netherlands in consecutive bilateral T20I series. This momentum will be further boosted by the return of regular skipper Litton Das, who missed the last five T20Is.
On the other hand, the visitors need to put their recent ODI thrashing against Bangladesh and the painful Nepal series defeat behind them. The West Indies have lost their last seven bilateral T20I series, dating back to October last year.
