Bangladesh clinch maiden T20 victory in New Zealand

Tigers beat host Kiwis in the first T20I by 5 wickets for the first time in New Zealand’s land at McLean Park, Napier on Wednesday.

Chasing 134 runs, Bangladesh scored 137 runs in 18.4 overs by losing 5 wickets.

Mahedi Hasan has become player of the match. 

Opener Litton Das scored the highest 00 runs off balls while Soumya Sarkar scored 22 runs from balls, skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 19 runs off 14 balls and Towhid Hridoy 19 runs from 18 balls.

In the first innings, New Zealand scored 134 runs in 20 overs by 9 wickets.

James Neesham smashed 48 runs off 29 balls.

Shoriful Islam bagged 3 wickets while Mahedi Hasan and Mustafizur got 2 wickets each.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl.
