Opener Travis Head hammered a brilliant century on a seemingly tricky pitch of Ahemedabad in final match of ICC World Cup 2023 on Sunday and made Australia champions for the 6th time defeating India by 6 wickets.
When India was on batting, it seemed like the pitch was hard to bat, but Australia’s exclusive performance, including Head’s fantastic knock of 137 off 120 balls, made it simply easier for Ausrlalia.
Middle order batter Marnus Labuschagne scored 58 to assist Head after a little collapse in Australian top-order as they lost their first 3 wickets for just 47 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets for India.
Earlier, India scored just 240 with half centuries from LK Rahul and Virat Kohli.
