This is the second win of Bangladesh in the tournament. It beat Afghanistan in the World Cup opener.
Chasing Sri Lanka’s 279 runs, the Tigers reached the target in 41.1 overs by losing 7 wickets.
Top-order batter Najmul Hossain Shanto scored the highest 90 runs off 101 balls and captain Shakib Al Hasan smashed 82 runs off 65 balls.
Lankan bowler Dilshan Madushanka bagged 3 wickets while Angelo Mathews and Maheesh Theekshana got 2 wickets each.
Earlier in the first innings, Sri Lanka posted 279 runs in 49.3 overs by losing all wickets.
Charith Asalanka smashed 108 runs off 105 balls while Pathum Nissanka and Sadeera Samarawickrama scored 41 runs each.
Debutant Tanzim Hasan Sakib bagged 3 wickets while Shoriful Islam and Shakib Al Hasan took 2 wickets each.
