In Monday’s ICC World Cup match going on in Delhi, Sri Lanka managed to score a good total of 279 runs recovering from some troubles in the beginning and middle phase of their innings.
Middle order batter Charith Asalanka made a brilliant century as he scored 108 runs off 105 balls.
Opener Pathum Nihsanka and middle order batter Sadira Samarawickrama scored 41 both.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib of Bangladesh took 3 wickets for 80 runs, while Shoriful Islam and Shakib Al Hasan took 2 wickets each.
In the match, during 25th overs, Angelo Mathews got time out as a batter for the first time in the international cricket history.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and send Sri Lanka to bat first.
