Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Tuesday.
This match is very important for both teams to keep the ray of hope to play the semi-final.
Bangladesh won only one game in the tournament while Pakistan got two wins.
Pakistan have performed far below expectations. The story isn’t much different for Bangladesh. Their only win came in the opening fixture against Afghanistan and the fact that they’d been missing their skipper half the time didn’t help their cause. While a semi-final berth seems highly unlikely for both sides, Bangladesh will be on a side-quest that Pakistan had the luxury to skip (having qualified directly as the host nation) - qualification to the 2025 Champions Trophy.
