The Bangladeshi mini-series has been selected for the world premiere in the “Spotlight: Women in Series” section of the world’s most prestigious series festival, “Serienkamp”. Popular actor Nazifa Tushi plays the title role in it.
It is known that the series will be screened at the festival to be held in Cologne, Germany on 9 June.
Saad wrote, directed and developed the screenplay for “Annie”. This marks the first time a Bangladeshi series has been selected for the festival.
Sharing the news on social media along with the series poster, Nazifa Tushi wrote: “Finally, the moment has come. ANNiE. The honor of playing the most complex, yet beautiful character... and my thanks goes to my director, Abdullah Mohammad Saad, for breaking me again and again to make me ANNiE.”
The cast also includes Yash Rohan, Simon Sadik, Sarika Sabrin and Farhana Mithu.
Saad began his filmmaking journey with “Live from Dhaka” in 2016. Later, in 2021, “Rehana Maryam Noor” was selected for the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
