One of the most unforgettable and popular songs in the history of Bangladeshi cinema, “Ei Mon Tomake Dilam,” is making a comeback after 44 years. Legendary singer Sabina Yasmin, who originally sang the song for the 1982 film “Manoshi”, has recorded it again for a new movie.
The timeless track remains deeply connected with audience across the country. After more than four decades, Sabina Yasmin has lent her voice to a refreshed version of the song for the upcoming film Domm, featuring a new musical arrangement.
The original lyrics were written by legendary lyricist, composer and filmmaker Gazi Mazharul Anwar, while the music was composed by Anwar Pervez. The recreated version retains the title “Ei Mon Tomake Dilam,” though some new lines have been added by Tonmoy Pervez. The new arrangement has been done by music director Arafat Mohsin Nidhi.
The recording of the song took place on Wednesday at a studio in the capital, where rising artiste Momin Biswas performed alongside Sabina Yasmin.
Sharing her thoughts during the recording, Sabina Yasmin said she agreed to sing the new version because she liked the composition and enjoys working with newcomers.
After the recording, she also praised the performances of Afran Nisho and Pooja Cherry in Domm and congratulated the team behind the film.
Music director Arafat Mohsin Nidhi noted that recreating a song associated with such timeless appeal was challenging. He said it was a great pleasure to work with Sabina Yasmin, whose songs he grew up listening to, adding that her appreciation of the new version was a major achievement for him.
For young artiste Momin Biswas, singing alongside Sabina Yasmin was nothing short of a dream come true.
