The teaser of the Eid film ‘Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka’, starring Shakib Khan, has been released, offering a glimpse of the actor in a powerful gangster role.
Directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud, the 1 minute and 29 second teaser was unveiled on the SK Films YouTube channel on Thursday. The makers described it as a “pre-blast”.
The teaser opens with scenes depicting the crime-ridden underworld of Dhaka. Soon after, Shakib Khan appears as the character Prince; sporting long hair and sunglasses; in intense action sequences where he takes down rivals and members of law enforcement.
Another look of the actor is also revealed in the teaser, featuring shorter hair and a different appearance, hinting at multiple shades of the character.
Towards the end, Prince’s voice delivers a striking line: “For those who do business with me, there will be sweets, and for those who do business with my enemy, there will be a shower of bullets.”
The teaser also features popular Indian actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya. Brief glimpses of the film’s two female leads Tasnia Farin and Tollywood actress Jyotirmoyee Kundu are also shown.
Earlier reports suggested that the film was inspired by the life of a well-known gangster from Dhaka’s 1990s underworld. However, director Abu Hayat Mahmud denied the claim, stating that “Prince” is not based on any real person but is a big-budget commercial film.
The film also stars Rashed Mamun Apu, Intekhab Dinar, Dr Ejaz and Sharif Siraj, among others.
Apart from Bangladesh, the movie was also filmed in India and Sri Lanka.
