Alongside his acclaimed acting career, Chanchal Chowdhury is also known for his singing talent and has previously covered popular songs by various artistes. For the first time, he has lent his voice to a Tollywood film. His songs will be heard in “Shekor”, directed by Bratya Basu.
Chanchal has recorded two songs for the film, as announced by the production company Friends Communication on social media. Sharing photos of Chanchal rehearsing in the studio with music director Prabuddha Banerjee. Post-production work on the film is currently in full swing.
For the movie, Chanchal has covered two popular Baul songs: “Ai Prithibi Jemon Achhey Temoni Thakbe” by Vijay Sarkar and “O Jiban Re Chhariya Na Jao More” by Goshta Gopal Das.
“Shekor” is based on the short stories “Drobmoyir Kashibas” and “Dadu” by renowned author Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay. In the film, Chanchal plays Indra, a factory worker whose father suffers from amnesia. The character resonated deeply with the actor, as his own father experienced a similar condition before his death, which drew him to the project.
This marks Chanchal’s first collaboration with Bratya Basu. Previously, the director worked with Mosharraf Karim on the films Dictionary and Hubba. Chanchal began shooting for Shekor in October last year, and the film is slated for release this year.
