Shabnur is one of the most beloved and popular actresses in the country. She has given memorable performances in many films and made a permanent mark in the entertainment industry with her glamour and acting.

Born in Jashore on December 17, 1979, Shabnur started her career with the film “Chandni Raatey”, directed by Ehtesham in 1993.

She got her breakthrough in her second film “Tumi Amar”, co-acted with Salman Shah in 1994. Later, she acted in numerous films and won a National Film Award.

In honor of Shabnur's birthday today, let's take a look at five of her most popular films.

Tumi Amar

The 1994 film is directed by Zahirul Haque and Tamij Uddin Rizvi. This is Shabnur’s first film opposite Salman Shah. In the story, Akash (Salman Shah) is a brilliant student. Despite his qualifications, he cannot get a job due to a lack of references. One day, while sitting in a CD shop of one of his friends, he meets a beautiful and rich girl Dana (Shabnur). Akash immediately fell in love with her. To get her, Akash takes the path of cheating and deception, which brings some realities before him.

Tomake Chai

Directed by Matin Rahman, the 1996 film stars Salman Shah, Shabnur, Khalil, and Ariful Haque. In the story of the film, a young man from a rich family falls in love with a girl from a middle-class family which drives him to come out from his home and earn his own livelihood.

Anand Ashru

Anand Ashru is a 1997 film starring Salman Shah, Shabnur and Kanchi in the main roles. Salman Shah plays a left-home lyricist, who writes sad songs. He goes to a village and falls in love with a simple girl, Nuri (Shabnur). Society doesn't appreciate this uneven love.

Dui Noyoner Alo

Directed by Mustafizur Rahman Manik, the film was released in 2005. Shabnur won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the film. ‘Dui Noyoner Alo’ also stars Ferdous Ahmed and Shakil Khan. In the story, Sejuti is a young woman who lives with her parents and younger brother; she is the family's sole wage earner. She dreams of living in a bungalow far from the crowded city. Meanwhile, Sejuti got to know she had cancer; she had only a few days to live. She wanted to complete all her tasks within these days.

Ek Takar Bou

Directed by P.A. Kajal, the film was released in 2008. Besides Shabnur, the film stars Rajjak, and Shakib Khan in the key roles. In the story, two sisters fall for the same man. Their lives, however, turn into a tragedy after the women find the man cheating on them.
