BNP joint secretary general Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie strongly criticized the neighboring country, saying, "With Indian support, Hasina assumed a fascist role. Just as there was corruption and misrule during her father's tenure, Hasina has carried out disappearances, murders, torture and opression for the past 15-16 years. The massacre was carried out by helicopters during the last July movement. All of this happened solely with Indian support. If India had not patronized one party or one person, there would have been no chance of this happening to Bangladesh. India should move forward considering Bangladesh as a friend country, not working for any particular individual, or any political organization."
He said this while visiting the Ashtami Snan ceremony at the traditional temple in the North Majpur area of Lakshmipur Municipality on Saturday afternoon.
Annie further said, "Martyred President Ziaur Rahman emphasized the importance of building a beautiful Bangladesh regardless of party affiliation. And Tarique Rahman talked about reforms with 31 points, where everything including health, education, media commission, and judiciary are mentioned. We fought for the vote, for the right to vote. We do not want one-man rule, authoritarianism and fascist rule. Democracy is under threat today due to misrule in the past (during Hasina's tenure).”
"He said, "We have all come together in the new chapter in the changed times. Bangladesh will be first in this chapter. We have nothing to be separated from to protect the country. Awami League must be banned by quickly by trialing Hasina and her cronies through the reform and trial process."
