The US welcomed steps taken by the interim government to ensure the safety of religious minorities and others in Bangladesh.
State Department Spokesperson Tamy Bruce told reporters at a briefing on Wednesday (Local time).
Recently, in an interview with Indian media NDTV, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard expressed concern about Bangladesh’s current situation and abuse of religious minorities.
When asked about the recent remarks made by Tulsi Gabbard regarding minority attacks in Bangladesh, Bruce stated that they (US) condemn any instances of violence or intolerance directed towards members of minority communities in any country.
“We welcomed measures taken by Bangladesh's interim government to ensure safety and security for all.
That’s what we’re watching. That’s what we expect. And that will be what continues,” Bruce said.
