A new student organization is emerging under the leadership of the organizers who led the anti-discrimination student movement. No name or debut date has been decided for the organization yet.
However, the motto of the organization will be 'Student First and Bangladesh First'.
Abu Baker Majumder, coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, made this announcement at a press conference organized at the Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University on Monday. At the time, coordinators Abdul Quader, Tahmid Al Moddasir Chowdhury, Rifat Rashid, Rafia Rehnuma Hridi, Hasib Al Islam, office secretary Zahid Ahsan, student of the International Relations Department Shakib Ahmed, co-coordinator Mohiuddin, and others were present.
They said that those who will join the new organization will withdraw from the anti-discrimination student movement.
Abu Baker Majumder said, “A public opinion survey and a membership recruitment program have been announced for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. Activities will be conducted online today and offline tomorrow. Activities will be conducted in various educational institutions of the country, including Dhaka University. This campaign will be conducted especially in Dhaka University's TSC, Curzon Hall area, Mokarram Bhaban area, Kala Bhaban, Business Education Faculty area, and Motahar Bhaban area. In addition, activities will be conducted in Jahangirnagar University, private universities and colleges in Dhaka city, government and private universities and madrasas across the country.
Abu Baker Majumder said that the organization will not be a ‘sycophant’ student organization.
He said, “Our student organization will not be a sycophant student organization. A new political party is being formed. This student organization will have no relationship with it. As part of the leadership process of our organization, leadership will be elected democratically from 'bottom to top'. The financial affairs of the organization will be managed through internal donations.”
