The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court will deliver its verdict on Wednesday on the appeals of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia challenging the HC verdict that on October 30, 2018, enhanced the five years' imprisonment handed by the trial court to 10 years in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.
A five-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed on Tuesday fixed the date for the delivery of the judgment after conducting hearing on the appeals.
The apex court also will deliver its verdict tomorrow on an appeal filed by former BNP lawmaker Kazi Salimul Haque alias Kazi Kamal challenging the HC judgement that upheld his 10 years' imprisonment handed down by the trial court in the same case.
The SC held hearing on the two appeals of Khaleda Zia for three days and the appeal of Kazi Kamal today.
