Let's forget all differences and unite to build Bangladesh: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urges everyone to remain united so that none can create division among the countrymen.

He said, “We have got an opportunity. That is why I would like to request all the forces including government officials, police, and army: let us use this opportunity and forget all the differences to build Bangladesh together.”

He said this while talking as the chief guest at a public rally at Shibganj Degree College ground in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila on Monday afternoon.

Mirza Fakhrul said, "Sheikh Hasina was in power by fooling through holding three elections. She thought that she would never out of power. But look how Hasina had to flee with her entire family in just a few months. However, she said I am not running away, I am not afraid, I am Mujib’s daughter, I am not running away.”

The BNP Secretary General said, ‘Hasina is conspiring and plotting from India by fleeing the country. She is spreading a false propaganda that our Hindu brothers are being tortured here. We are very peace-loving people. Our Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, Muslims have always lived together.”

He said, “Some people are saying that 71 will be forgotten. We cannot forget 71. Our independent country was born in 71. I was able to recognize myself in 71. We have been able to create our own territory then.”

Thanking the students, Mirza Fakhrul said, “I want to thank the students, our brothers who fought for 15 years. They have created another opportunity for us by sacrificing their bloods so that we can create a democratic path in the country again. We want to ensure the right to vote for all people. No one has been able to vote in last 15 years. We want to return this right to people.”
