Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said that a total of 88 cases have been registered in incidents related to minorities from August 5 to October 22 this year while 70 people have been arrested in connection with those incidents.
He revealed the information at a regular press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Tuesday evening.
Shafiqul Alam said, "All those involved in these heinous incidents will be arrested. None will be spared."
The government will brief regularly about these incidents in the future. The number of these cases and the number of arrests might be increased. New incidents of violence have recently been reported in several places including Sunamganj and Gazipur, he added.
No one has been arrested in these incidents due to their political background. Only the suspects have been arrested, the press secretary asserted.
