DMP has stressed the need for joining public hands with the police in maintaining law and order, reports BSS.
Additional Police Commissioner (Logistics Finance and Procurement) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Hasan Md Shawkat Ali on Sunday said: “To maintain the law and order, the people must come forward along with the police”.
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting of the police, student-people, and eminent citizens of the Gulshan Thana area at the Gulshan Shooting Club in the capital city here.
Shawkat said that drugs are leading the young generation towards destruction. “We all have to fight against drugs together,” he said.
Mentioning that the residents of Gulshan Thana area have arranged medical services for rickshawpullers, he said , "This is undoubtedly a humane and wonderful thing. In this way, if we come forward to each other's danger, a beautiful society will be built."
The meeting, chaired by Gulshan Division Deputy Police Commissioner Md. Tarek Mahmud, was attended by officials of various ranks of Gulshan Division, leaders of various political parties, social, professional, religious organizations and students.
