Solaiman Selim is the former Member of Parliament for Dhaka-7 and son of prominent political figure Haji Mohammad Selim.
He was arrested late Wednesday night by Chawkbazar Police. He was taken into custody from a residence in the upscale Gulshan area of the capital.
Chawkbazar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rezaul Hossain confirmed the arrest, stating that Solaiman Selim was apprehended around 1:15 AM on Wednesday. According to OC Hossain, the arrest was made by a team from Chawkbazar Police Station following a tip-off.
Following the collapse of Sheikh Hasina's government on August 5, Solaiman Selim reportedly went into hiding to evade arrest.
