Court has imposed a travel ban on Dr Selina Hayat Ivy, the former mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation, in connection with allegations of corruption.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md. Zakir Hossain issued the order on November 6, granting a plea from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Court Inspector Amir Hossain informed BSS today.
ACC Deputy Director Mohammad Neyamul Ahsan Gazi filed the plea on that day pleading to impose a travel ban on the former Narayanganj City Corporation mayor.
The anti-graft body in its plea said they are probing allegations of misusing power, amassing illegal wealth through corruption and irregularities, among others, against Ivy.
"She may try to flee the country to evade justice. Travel ban should be imposed on her to stop her from fleeing the country," the petitioner said.
