The High Court has directed the government to take effective measures to control dengue across the country. The Local Government Secretary, Health Secretary, and relevant authorities, including the two City Corporations of Dhaka, have been instructed to implement this order and submit a report within 30 days.
On Tuesday, this order was issued by the High Court bench of Justice Fahmida Quader and Justice Mubina Asaf.
Also, the court has ordered the concerned authority to come up with a long-term plan to control dengue and form a committee to achieve that goal. The court also instructed that the committee should include experts. The court also issued a rule asking why the failure of the relevant authorities to control dengue should not be declared illegal.
Earlier, last week, Barrister Mahin M Rahman filed a writ in the High Court seeking directives for controlling dengue across the country.
