Sarjis Alam, one of the coordinators of anti-discrimination student movement and general secretary of July Martyrs memorial Foundation, said I request the civil society to showcase Awami League's (AL) misdeeds in last 16 years to the world.
He said, "We have forgotten the last 16 years and we’ve just passed 3 months of bloody July-Agugust incident."
He also urged the mass media to highlight the sacrifices of martyrs and injured people of the movement.
Against the announcement of Awami League's program, the students and the crowd took a position at the zero point of the capital on Sunday. Sarjis Alam, one of the main coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, demanded the trial of Awami League from their public gathering.
Taking part in the public gathering, he highlighted the torture and brutality of the Awami League in last 16 years.
He strongly protested and condemned the attempt to make the students' movement controversial after August 5.
Earlier, from Saturday night, regardless of the party affiliations, students and people of various professions took a position at Zero Point to resist the program of Awami League. The anti-discrimination student movement also held public gatherings announcing to counter the Awami League.
