The interim government has formed a committee ( comprised of 19 members) to transform Gono Bhaban into a museum.
On Saturday (November 2), after inspecting the progress of the July Uprising Memorial Museum project, the ICT Adviser Nahid Islam, informed journalists about the decision.
In response to a question from the press, Nahid stated “Gono Bhaban will showcase images depicting the oppression by the ousted Awami government across the country during July and August. A replica of the Aynaghar will be created. There will also be a research center here.”
“No matter which government comes to Power, the museum will be preserved,” the adviser further added.
Mahfuz Alam, special assistant to the Chief Adviser to the interim government Prof Muhammad Yunus, stated that the work on the July Uprising Memorial Museum would be completed soon.
“Gono Bhaban is the symbol of struggles and pride of the country's 160 million people and it also stands as a symbol of democracy against fascism. We will take initiatives to portray its history to the global community,” said Mahfuz.
