United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is going to open their office in Dhaka.
There was talk regarding it with UNHRC High Commissioner Volker Turk, said adviser for Social Welfare and women and Children Affairs Sharmeen Murshid.
She told this to the reporters at Hotel Intercontinental in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.
Sharmeen Murshid said, "There was a discussion about opening the office of the United Nations Human Rights Commission in Dhaka. The government is looking at the matter positively to protect the human rights of the people of Bangladesh."
The adviser also said that the report on the preliminary investigation of human rights violations in July-August has a major role in opening the office in Dhaka. Earlier, the five advisers of the interim government met with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk at Hotel Intercontinental.
Turk is now on a visit in Dhaka.
