A court has sent former state minister for industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder to jail today(Monday) in a case lodged over the killing of Jagannath University student Ekramul Haque Sajid during the anti-discrimination student movement.
Saifuddin Hossain, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate, passed the order as police presented Kamal Majumder before the court after the end of his three-day remand and pleaded to keep him in jail till the investigation ends.
Kamal Majumder was arrested from the Gulshan area on October 18 and the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider placed him on the three-day remand on october 19.
Sajid was shot in front of Shah Ali Majar in Mirpur on August 4. Sajid's father Jiaul Haque filed the case on September 7.
