Stating Fakir Lalon Shah as a great anti-discrimination figure, Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter said Lalon Fakir spoke against all types of discrimination even 134 years ago.
“His words are relevant to all aspects of society. If we love and care, then we can't do injustice, tyranny or torture to women. We can't even catch fish by poisoning the river,” she said.
The adviser said this while speaking as the chief guest on the 134th Demise Day of the mysterious saint Baul Samrat Fakir Lalon Shah at Lalan Akhra in Cheuria of Kumarkhali in Kushtia on Thursday night.
The adviser demanded preservation and research of all the words of Lalon Shah to Lalon Academy.
She said, “If the interim government cannot work properly, you will correct it, speak about different issues. We have formed the government by the sacrifice of the students; so we cannot fulfill our responsibilities in a casual manner.”
The advisor also said, 'Lalon is not just about singing, it's not just about devotion. Nurturing his philosophy is a way of life for all.
