World Bank (WB) Vice President for the South Asia Region, Martin Raiser, is scheduled to reach in Dhaka on Monday on his maiden visit to Bangladesh to discuss development priorities.
During his three-day visit in Bangladesh, Raiser will meet with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, along with other senior government officials, and discuss World Bank support to the country, said a media release.
The WB VP will also meet development partners, leaders from the private sector, civil society, and think tanks.
Raiser, a German national, assumed the role of the World Bank Vice President for the South Asia Region on July 1, 2022.
Prior this, he worked as the Country Director for China, Mongolia, and Korea.
Raiser also held the positions of Country Director for Turkey and Country Director for Brazil, it added.
