Israeli forces launched another airstrike on the al-Mawasi area in Gaza, designated as a “safe zone,” leaving at least 20 people dead and dozens more injured. Local correspondents reported that women and children were “incinerated” in the devastating attack, highlighting the dire toll on civilians as violence continues to escalate in the region.
In addition to strikes on Gaza, Israeli forces carried out air raids in southern Lebanon, despite an ongoing ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah. According to Israeli authorities, the strikes targeted what they described as a launchpad in the Majdal Zoun area. The breach of the ceasefire deal has raised concerns about further regional instability as the conflict spreads beyond Gaza.
The situation in Gaza remains catastrophic, with the death toll continuing to climb. Since the conflict erupted on October 7, 2023, at least 44,532 Palestinians have been killed, and 105,538 others injured, marking one of the deadliest periods in the region's history. The crisis began following a Hamas-led attack that killed at least 1,139 people in Israel and resulted in more than 200 individuals being taken captive.
The violence has also extended into Lebanon, where Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 4,047 people and wounded 16,638 since the conflict began. The escalating hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon threaten to draw the region into further chaos as diplomatic efforts to enforce ceasefires repeatedly falter.
Humanitarian organizations and international leaders continue to call for an immediate cessation of hostilities, but the death toll and suffering continue to rise as civilians bear the brunt of the violence.
