The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday finalised the list of associations, clubs and organisations eligible to nominate 192 councillors, as the board’s ad-hoc committee took a series of decisions at its fourth meeting in Mirpur, reports Daily Sun.
According to a BCB media release, the nominations will be invited under three categories in line with Article 12.7 of the BCB constitution. The board will issue formal letters to the respective bodies requesting councillor nominations, which must be submitted by 16 May, 2026.
The committee also decided to introduce an assessment process for applicants for 64 district coach positions following the expiry of existing contracts, with evaluations to include both theoretical and practical components.
In another decision, the BCB approved a three-month extension of contracts for match referees and umpires, which had expired on 30 April, 2026.
“Pursuant to Article 12.7 of the BCB Constitution, the Board has finalised the list of associations, clubs and organisations from which 192 councillors will be invited,” the release said.
It added that the assessment process for district coach positions was being introduced to ensure “a structured and transparent evaluation mechanism” following the expiry of current appointments.
The board also confirmed that the extension of match officials’ contracts was approved “for the smooth continuation of domestic cricket activities.”
