After securing victory in the first ODI, the Bangladesh Women's Cricket Team is now aiming to clinch the series against the Sri Lanka Women's Cricket Team.
In this crucial match in Rajshahi, Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty won the toss and elected to bat first.
Earlier, Bangladesh’s women registered a historic win in the first international match held in Rajshahi. At the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium, they defeated Sri Lanka by 3 wickets in the opening game of the three-match ODI series. This victory marked Bangladesh’s first-ever win over Sri Lanka in women’s ODIs after five attempts.
While chasing a target of over 200 runs, it seemed at one stage that Bangladesh would win comfortably. However, toward the end, the hosts came under pressure after losing four wickets within 11 balls.
Although matches had previously been held at the Kamruzzaman Stadium at the age-group level, this was the first international fixture there at both men’s and women’s levels. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka women’s cricket team did not enjoy a good start to their tour of Bangladesh, which marks their first-ever bilateral series visit to the country.
