The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed former star spinner Mohammad Rafique as the spin coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team.
The matter was confirmed by the chairman of the cricket administration department, Nazmul Abedin Fahim, after the board meeting on Saturday.
In this context, he said, "We have 8-10 pace bowling coaches. But if we look back, we may not even find three spin coaches. That area is very worrying. We need to create some of our own spin coaches. Rafique is almost a ready-made person who can serve right now. In addition, we may see two or four more in the future as we will try to create them. As we move towards decentralization, we realize that we do not have enough expert manpower. We should appoint with that in mind."
Mohammad Rafique was an international player for Bangladesh National Cricket Team from 1994 to 2007. This legend left armer was instrumental in many of Bangladesh's famous wins prior to and after the Test cricket entering era of Bangladesh.
