Bangladesh return to One Day International (ODI) cricket after nearly four months as they take on Pakistan in the first match of a three-match series today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The remaining matches of the series will be held on March 13 and March 15.
Bangladesh last played an ODI in October last year against the West Indies, winning the series 2–1. Since then, the Tigers had been busy with the T20 format.
With the 2027 ODI World Cup set to be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, Bangladesh are aiming to secure a place in the top eight of the ICC rankings to qualify directly for the tournament. Bangladesh are currently ranked 10th, making the series particularly important.
