Veteran Bangladesh national team cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim faced unexpected complications on his way back home after performing the holy Umrah. He had to be stuck at Jeddah airport in Saudi Arabia due to the temporary closure of airspace due to the recent situation in the Middle East. However, the star batter finally returned home after ending all the uncertainties.
He landed in Dhaka around 10 am on Monday.
According to the initial plan, he was supposed to return home last Friday. Although he was supposed to return to Dhaka via Dubai after the Umrah, complications arose in the regional airspace after the US and Israel attacked Iran. After reaching Dubai, his flight was diverted back to Jeddah. As a result, he was forced to stay in Saudi Arabia.
Then, concerns arose among fans and supporters. Many expressed concerns about his safety on social media. Finally, Mushfiqur gave news of relief in a post on his verified Facebook page on Sunday night.
In the post, he wrote, "Alhamdulillah, I boarded the plane safely. InshaAllah, I will land in Dhaka tomorrow morning. Thank you to those who have been in constant contact with me in the last 24 hours and sent many prayers. May Allah Almighty bring us all home safely."
In a Facebook post on Monday, Mushfiqur's wife Jannatul Kifayet Mondi wrote, "Alhamdulillah, Mushfiqur has returned home safely. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala has made everything easy for him. Thank you very much to all those who have been looking after me and giving emotional support. We pray, Insha Allah, that the situation in the world will become calm and normal very soon."
