Bangladesh women's A team stormed into the Asia Cup Rising Stars final after hammering Pakistan A by 54 runs in a low-scoring semi-final at Terdthai Cricket Ground, Bangkok, reports Daily Sun.
Defending 110, the Tigresses skittled Pakistan out for just 56 to seal their place as the second finalists. They will now face India in the title decider.
Bangladesh, sent in to bat, posted a low-scoring total in their 20 overs. Captain Fahima Khatun top-scored with a composed 40 not out from 32 deliveries, while regular wickets fell at the other end and no other batter could provide sustained support.
In reply, Bangladesh’s bowlers delivered a superb collective effort to bundle Pakistan out for just 56. Shawaal Zulfiqar was their top scorer with 14 off 17 balls, but the chase never gained momentum.
Sanjida Akter Meghla spearheaded the attack with three wickets. Fahima followed with two, while Farjana Easmin, Fatema Jahan and Fariha Trisna chipped in with one wicket each to complete a comprehensive victory.
