National team operations manager Nafees Iqbal has hailed Bangladesh’s direct qualification for the 2028 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, calling it a major achievement built on resilience, planning and unity.
“Unfortunately, we were unable to take part in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Even so, qualifying directly for the 2028 T20 World Cup is undoubtedly a major achievement,” Nafees wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday.
“This success proves that challenges do not stop us; rather, they make us more organised and resilient,” he added, underlining the value of sustained effort over the past year.
Nafees credited the collective contribution behind the progress, saying, “We are now reaping the rewards of consistent hard work, planning and team unity over the past year.”
He also praised the squad and leadership group, stating, “Heartfelt congratulations to the players and the team management,” before adding, “Special congratulations to Litton for his strong leadership.”
“As the national team’s operations manager, I am truly proud of my team.”
Bangladesh are set to qualify automatically for the 2028 tournament based on ICC T20I rankings.
