Following the formation of the new government after the 13th National Parliament election, Nigar Sultana Jyoti has shared her expectations that the administration will prioritize meeting the basic needs of the country’s citizens.
In a social media post on Wednesday, Joty wrote that ensuring access to education, healthcare, safe roads and affordable prices should take precedence over competition for positions of power. “The people of the country do not ask for much,” she noted, emphasizing the importance of addressing everyday concerns.
Highlighting challenges in the health sector, she pointed out that a 1,500-bed hospital often accommodates more than 5,000 patients while facing a shortage of doctors and nurses. As a result, many citizens struggle to receive adequate medical services.
She also drew attention to the poor condition of roads in various parts of the country, saying that damaged infrastructure can pose risks even to healthy individuals, with the elderly, sick and pregnant women suffering the most.
Concluding her message, Joty wrote, “The people of the country are easily happy, but it is important to resolve their daily needs. Citizens will be satisfied when their basic necessities are ensured,” expressing hope that the new government will focus on these priorities.
