Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam Bulbul returned to the country on Friday after completing official duties abroad.
He did not travel to Colombo to watch the India-Pakistan match scheduled to be held on Sunday evening.
Bulbul had received an official invitation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) to attend the India-Pakistan clash at the R. Premadasa Stadium during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The ICC had expressed its interest in his presence at the high-profile fixture. However, he decided to return to Dhaka as per his pre-scheduled itinerary.
Sources said Bulbul’s decision not to attend the match was linked to Bangladesh’s absence from the World Cup. Instead of heading to Colombo, he flew directly back to Dhaka.
Before returning home, Bulbul attended a meeting of the Asian Cricket Council in Kuwait.
