A looming rain threat could pause Sunday’s high-voltage India–Pakistan World Cup clash in Colombo as forecasters warn of possible disruptions, reports Daily Sun.
The Sri Lanka Department of Meteorology has flagged a developing low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, raising the risk of rain on match day.
The forecast for the Khettarama area, home of the R Premadasa Stadium, predicts warm, humid conditions early, followed by scattered thunderstorms and a 50–70% chance of rain.
With the game scheduled for 7pm local time, heavy showers beforehand could delay the toss or shorten play, though some models suggest a slight clearing after 8pm.
The Premadasa’s advanced drainage and full-ground covers may aid recovery, typically allowing play within an hour after rain stops.
Both India and Pakistan have four points each in Group A of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
