Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam Bulbul returned home on Friday after completing official engagements abroad, choosing not to travel to Colombo to attend the high-profile India–Pakistan match in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, according to reports.
The former national cricketer had received an official invitation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) to watch the much-anticipated clash at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. However, he decided to follow his prearranged itinerary and flew back to Dhaka instead.
Reports suggest that the ICC had expressed interest in having the BCB president present at the marquee fixture. Despite the invitation, Bulbul opted not to attend in person. Sources indicated that his decision may be linked to Bangladesh’s non-participation in the ongoing tournament.
Before returning to the country, Bulbul attended a meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in Kuwait as part of his official duties.
