Cricketer Tamim Iqbal cast his vote at the Chattogram Public Administration Center. Speaking to journalists after voting, he said, “I voted for the first time in my life. I’m very excited.”
He arrived at the polling center around 11:00 am. As a large crowd gathered outside to catch a glimpse of him, members of the army and law enforcement agencies escorted him into the center under tight security. After casting his vote, he was similarly escorted out safely.
At this polling center where Tamim Iqbal voted, nearly 20 percent of ballots were cast within the first two and a half hours.
