Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Nazrul expressed gratitude to Pakistan on Thursday for showing solidarity with Bangladesh.
He posted a message on Facebook thanking the country after Pakistan decided to boycott its upcoming T20 World Cup match against India.
Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced that the boycott was a gesture of support for Bangladesh.
“We will not play against India because politics should have no place on the field. We made this decision after careful consideration and stand fully with Bangladesh,” Sharif said, according to Asif Nazrul’s post.
Asif Nazrul described the decision as highly appropriate and reiterated his thanks to Pakistan for backing Bangladesh in the tournament.
