Atletico Madrid strengthened their squad on Monday by signing midfielders Rodrigo Mendoza and Obed Vargas, and confirming the arrival of forward Ademola Lookman, reports AFP.
Coach Diego Simeone had called for reinforcements with Atletico sitting third in La Liga, 10 points behind leaders Barcelona, after Conor Gallagher and Giacomo Raspadori departed earlier in the winter window.
Mendoza joined from Elche for a reported €20 million ($23.5 million) and has signed a contract running until 2031, though Atletico did not officially disclose the fee.
Vargas, 20, moved from MLS side Seattle Sounders, having faced Atletico last summer in the Club World Cup.
Forward Ademola Lookman, previously at Atalanta, completed his transfer on Monday in a deal reported to be worth €40 million. The Nigeria international has signed a contract with Atletico until 2030.
Winter spending across La Liga remained modest, with Barcelona bringing in Joao Cancelo on loan from Al-Hilal, while Real Madrid made no moves during the window.
