Bangladesh women’s vice-captain Nahida Akter expressed strong confidence in her side’s form after extending their winning streak to six consecutive matches, underlining the team’s growing momentum as they look to become champions in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers for the fourth time, reports Daily Sun.
“Alhamdulillah, we have won six matches in a row,” the vice-captain said. “We still have one more game to play, and Inshallah we will try to maintain this winning run and become champions.”
The left-arm spinner has bagged five wickets in four games, conceding 108 runs at an economy of 7.2.
The 25-year-old credited the team’s all-around performance, highlighting consistency across all departments.
“As a team, we are doing very well in all three departments,” she said. “Especially the batters — they are performing extremely well and are in great form. Hopefully, they can carry this form forward.”
Looking beyond the tournament, Nahida stressed the importance of preparation ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup, which is still several months away.
“Before the World Cup, we have around four to five months,” she said. “Inshallah, we will try to use this time properly and go into the World Cup with the best possible preparation.”
