Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Friday denied social media claims that its president Md Aminul Islam was under investigation by the head of its integrity unit, Alex Marshall, calling the reports ‘false and fabricated’, reports Daily Sun.
In a statement, the BCB said Marshall had personally rejected the allegation and confirmed in writing that no such inquiry existed.
“The BCB President being under investigation by me. This is a completely untrue and fabricated allegation,” Marshall said, according to the board.
BCB said it had launched legal action against those responsible for spreading the claims, including filing a general diary with Mirpur police in Dhaka on January 30.
The board described the reports as a deliberate attempt to damage the reputation of its president and undermine the credibility of Bangladesh cricket.
It also urged the public and media to avoid sharing unverified information and to rely on official sources for accurate updates.
