Uncertainty remains over Pakistan’s participation at the 2026 T20 World Cup to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Ever since the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) refused to travel to India citing security concerns, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has indicated that they are considering several options and a final decision on whether they take part in the tournament will be made by their government, News 18 reported.
It’s being widely reported that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi could confirm the participation by Friday. Notably, Pakistan have already named their 15-man squad for the competition scheduled to get underway from February 7.
Amid the concerns, India cricketer Ajinkya Rahane has claimed that Pakistan will not boycott the World Cup as they “don’t have the guts" to do so.
“I don’t think they will do it. They don’t have the guts," Rahane said on Cricbuzz.
Meanwhile, a report claims that the members of the Pakistani cricket team are slated to fly together with the Australian team to Colombo for the T20 World Cup.
